Mrs Mabel Ogaraku is a seasoned and passionate education professional with over 36 years of experience in teaching and school leadership. She began her teaching career in 1989 as a class teacher at Kemeesther Nursery/Primary School. In 1991, she joined Corona Schools, where she served in various capacities, including Class Teacher, Supervisor, Acting Head of School, and Deputy Head of School, a position she held until her resignation in 2007.
In October 2007, she became a member of the pioneer team at Imperial Gate School as Head of Academics and Administration. She was later appointed Head of School in March 2010. Since then, she has passionately and painstakingly led the school’s operations, driving excellence across all areas and achieving several significant milestones. Through visionary leadership, dedication, and innovation, the school has successfully introduced new initiatives and transformative programs that have strengthened academic standards, enhanced pupils’ experiences, and fostered continuous growth within the school community. Her commitment to progress and excellence continues to position the school for sustained success and positive impact.
Her extensive educational experience has provided her with the opportunity to collaborate with diverse groups of people toward the shared goal of equipping pupils with the knowledge and skills required to navigate life successfully. Her educational philosophy is rooted in the conviction that every child can learn when supported by a positive learning environment, a committed and focused educational team, a supportive family, and an encouraging community.
Mabel is an alumna of Lagos Business School and University of Roehampton. She holds a Nigerian Certificate in Education (NCE), a Bachelor’s Degree in Education (B.Ed.), and a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership. She also completed the Senior Management Programme (SMP 45) at Lagos Business School and has participated in numerous seminars and professional development programmes both locally and internationally.
